RESEARCH ACTIVITIES UNDER THE NOBLE PROJECT

Characterization of Boundary Layer Processes under distinct geographical zones.

Establish the ‘climatology’ of ABL parameters and energy fluxes and their mean diurnal variations at different geographical regions that represent typical geographical and climate conditions in the Indian region and surrounding oceans.

Understand the role of ABL processes in the vertical exchange of energy, momentum and mass (including aerosols and water vapour) and regulation of tropospheric thermodynamics.

Improve the physical understanding of the ABL processes using observations and atmospheric models, eventually leading to better ABL parameterization in the models.
